Observe chats with Shadow Personas

Shadow Personas are an experimental way to analyze a conversation without adding the analysis to its main message thread. They use a persona's configured model and instructions.

Add an observer

1. Open Shadow Personas in a saved conversation.
2. Choose Create Shadow Persona, name it, and select a persona.
3. Choose an Update Trigger and the number of recent messages to include from each split.
4. Select a synthesis mode and create the Shadow Persona.
5. Use Manage Splits to choose which splits it monitors.

You can attach an existing Shadow Persona instead of creating another. Save a new conversation before expecting its observer to process messages.

Choose when it runs

• Every Message: analyze after each message.
• Every N Messages: analyze after the configured interval.
• Manual Only: run only when you click Process Now.

Use Deactivate to pause automatic analysis. Each analysis is a separate model request.

Choose the analysis format

Combined Analysis produces one result across monitored splits. Per Split keeps results separate, and Comparative highlights differences and agreements. Auto chooses based on the splits and models in use.

Open View Latest to see the current result or View History for earlier versions.

Remove it from a conversation

Detach removes the observer from this conversation while keeping it available elsewhere. Delete Shadow Persona deletes it from all conversations where it is attached; review the confirmation before continuing.
