Add and update sources
Choose what a Knowledge Stack indexes and how it handles changes.
Open a stack and expand the source section you need. Files, folders, notes, links, conversations, and conversation projects can live in the same stack.
Choose sources
- Files: Select documents to process.
- Folders: Select local directories. Review ignore rules to exclude files you do not want indexed.
- Notes: Write or paste text directly into the stack.
- YouTube Links: Add videos with usable transcript content.
- Web Links: Add pages to extract and index.
- Conversations: Use selected conversations as source material.
- Conversation Projects: Include conversation content from a project.
Use Compose after adding or changing sources. Review any processing errors before using the stack in a chat.
Watch for changes
Sources that support watching offer Watch Mode:
| Mode | What happens |
|---|---|
| Manual | Reprocess when you compose the stack. |
| Watch & Mark | Detect changes and mark content for reprocessing. |
| Watch & Compose | Detect changes and compose in the background. |
| Ignore | Skip the source during composition. |
Watching requires access to the original source. Keep local directories available and review the compose schedule in Compose Settings.
Control a running compose
Use Pause to suspend work and Resume to continue. Abort stops processing. Progress and errors stay with the stack so you can see what needs attention.
