Install and Upgrade

Install the desktop app

Download the installer for your operating system from the Msty website. On macOS, choose the build for Apple Silicon or Intel. Windows also has separate x64 and ARM64 builds.

Open the installer, launch Msty Studio, and follow Quick Start.

Some local engines depend on your operating system and hardware. The onboarding recommendation helps you choose; you can manage engines later in Local Models.

Before upgrading

Create a data backup and keep a copy outside the app's data folder. Keep your model files if you want to reuse downloaded models.

Move from 2.x

2.x users remain on the 2.x update line until they explicitly select the 3.x track. Select the 3.x option in the application update settings when you are ready to upgrade.

Already using a 3.0.0 beta? Stable 3.0.0 uses the same 3.x update feed. You do not need to reinstall or switch tracks to receive it once it is released.

Browser users

The web app stays on 2.x for this release. Use the version selector to open the 2.x guide; desktop 3.x screens may differ.
